Before joining the IT industry, Philip was a member of the corporate department of a major Belgian law firm and advised on and negotiated various acquisition agreements. He also advised on general corporate and financial matters, both in Belgium and Luxembourg. This M&A expertise lead to a particular focus on IT outsourcing projects, first as in-house counsel of CSC, than as outside counsel to various IT suppliers. This implied the drafting and negotiation of local and cross border outsourcing and facilities management agreements in Europe (including the sale of business, transfer of staff and services part) for traditional outsourcing projects (eg, mainframe, servers, desktop, applications) as well as BPO, ASP and Internet Hosting and managed services projects. Philip has been responsible for legal and regulatory support to e-business practices of various companies and in particular in the area of digital signatures, e-advertising and e-supply.
